Medical Interpreting Clearance
Two of our customers, Sutter Medical and Kaiser, require that the independent contractors we send to their facilities complete a medical screening, drug testing and background check prior to being eligible to serve their requests.
Below are the details you will need in order to complete the process of getting cleared to cover assignments for these customers.
Clearance requirements for both are quite similar. Follow the directions on the two links provided below. You can submit your background check through Sutter and then send us a digital copy of the results to satisfy your background check for Kaiser.

Sutter Medical:
Sutter requires that you register with their third party verification system, Symplr. There is a $79 annual fee that covers the cost of your background check and ongoing tracking of your required verification forms. All documents and proof of vaccination/immunity must be uploaded to their website. An invitation from Symplr is required to begin the process. If you are interested, please ask us to have one sent to you.

Kaiser:
Partners’ staff will collect and maintain the database for your Kaiser clearance. You may submit all required documentation to us via fax or email.

Note Regarding HIPAA Training:
Symplr will accept outside training documents for HIPAA. Documents submitted must state your name, the name of the HIPAA or Privacy Training, and the completion date (this is what we use to determine the expiration date). Symplr does offer HIPAA training ($60) through your individual profile if you need a training resource, but it is not a requirement to purchase their training.
Proof of HIPAA training is required every 2 years. A completion date is needed on your document or you will be declined.
